Fuzhou, China

  We arrived to China after a long day of travelling, a stopover in Guangzhour and then onward to Xiamen. We had an overnight stay booked in Xiamen and planned to move on to Fuzhour the next day. As we arrived to the airport we figured out we needed to get a shuttle to the train station that was close to our hostel. The information desk were reluctant to help us and didn't speak much English. We eventually showed a picture of the train station and asked for a ticket. We arrived at the train station and got on our 'Maps.me' app to find our hostel. It showed us that we were a 9hr walk away!! Wed only gone and got off at the wrong station! So back on the train to the right one! Trying to find the hostel after a LONG day of travelling was less than fun! Carrying heavy bags traipsing back and forth trying to follow the app finally became futile and I stopped dead in my tracks and declared 'OK, im fed up of this!' We gave up on the idea of finding our accommodation...

Hoi An

  Ah Hoi An!   We arrived to our homestay 'Blue Lake Homestay'. Room was fab! Delighted with ourselves. Starving and tired we took bikes and headed into the old town (Unesco world heritage site!) We got lost initially and got some crap food in a typical tourist place! We prevailed on and headed for the old town. Like something out of a fairytale, old houses, buildings and scattered with lanterns. Sitting along the river. Everywhere you turn are quaint coffee shops, restaurants, clothes stores and art galleries. We spent the day into evening strolling around taking it all in. Next day we set off towards the beach and visited the herb and vegetable gardens. Everyone here lives off the land and everything is so fresh and locally produced. Spent a few hours sunning ourselves and jumping in and out of the sea. Went looking for a coffee shop then.....story of our lives!!   Headed back in to the old city until the evening and let a lantern out into t...
