Nimh Binh

We were advised by some mad Irish lads we met to visit Nimh Bin. So instead of going to Hoi An where Joanne and Aiden advised we came here. (to get to Hoi An was an overnight train/bus (17hours) and it was quite expensive and because we didn't have much time in Vietnam we didn't want to limit our time!) So we took a 2.5 hour bus to nearby Nimh Bin. As we arrived in we were less than impressed and started to pay particular attention to the 'Bin' part of the name! It was a grubby run down town. Before we had arrived to our hostel we decided to leave promptly for Hoi An! Our hostel was cool though, it was an old train station, we had a lovely big room and the facilities were great. We went out looking for some food and were drawn in to a place by a lovely girl waving hysterically at us. Should we stay or should we go now!!!

After bidding farewell to all our dear family and friends and arriving to the airport to be greeted by my dad to whisk us through, sure jaysus we'll be sitting in the executive lounge in no time sipping some.....tea! No such luck! Even with some handy nepotism to check us in my dad couldn't unfortunately help the fact that our heathrow flight was cancelled due to fog! Like are you kidding! Panic sets in, can't believe we've to do the whole goodbye again, will we get out at all?! Waiting in a queue to change our flights around along with a hell of a lot of other disgruntled customers! Airport is chaotic, new check in system and new staff is a recipe for the madness going on!  Sure look this is all part of it!  Won't get out till tomorrow they say! No flights have made it out to Heathrow the last two days! Yikes  So after queuing up for a total of 5 hours we finally got our flight sorted for the next morning @ 6.15am through Manchester and Dubai!  Left the airport at ...

From Bangkok to Koh Tao

Arrival to Bangkok was smooth baggage was there waiting for us, grabbed a taxi pretty quickly and we were feeling so good about our night in Bangkok, hotel was a bit tricky to find but once we got there we were relieved to find a comfortable room and great shower facilities!! Too late to venture out we opted for an early night to catch up on our sleep! Up early now to see this wonderful city.....only we woke up at 3.45 the following day following disrupted but heavy sleep! With one hour till it was dark we ran to reception asking what was close, she directed us to the MbK centre. So it's a big indoor market, all stalls selling high quality knock offs! Interesting enough so we had a little wander some food and very proudly walked back to or hostel! Found the city very safe, people so friendly and helpful and would have liked to have seen more of it but wahay we are on our way to Koh Tao via an overnight train and a ferry!
